About the author:

Dr AL Mudaliar(1887-1974)

 He was an outstanding personality of his time of life. A gynecologist with other qualifications likeeducationist, statesman and much more, he served as the President of the World Health Organization 1961(WHO), and also as the Vice-Chancellor of Madras University, Chennai, Tamilnadu. He wrote Clinical Obstetrics, the first Indian book on obstetrics with eminent guidelines in association with Dr M K Krishna Menon. He was conferred with the doctorate degree of DCI by Oxford University, London and LLD by the universities of Hong Kong, Canada and India. His achievements are not expressible in words.

Dr M K Krishna Menon (1908-1988)

He was Professor at the Stanley Medical College,Chennai, tamilnadu and Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Madras Medical College (MMC) Chennai, Tamilnadu. He played an important role in implementing the safe practices in obstetrics and gynaecology in India & worked to bring down maternal and infant mortality and improve maternal and child health services in India , which was very much high at that time and also in other developing countries. He served 'presidential terms of office,'(PTO) with the Federation of International Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) and the Indian Federation of Obstetric Societies(IFOS). His guidelines improved the quality of many families in India.

Sarala Gopalan

 He is former Professor and also the Head, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. She was one of the editors of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Postgraduates students (Third edition), Volumes 1 and also 2. She co-edited the tenth and eleventh editions of this book Mudaliar and menons obstetrics book.
